Washington, USA — Skyfarer Academy, a modern aviation training platform, announced a new partnership with Professional Pilots of Tomorrow (PPOT), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to mentorship and career guidance for aspiring pilots.
This partnership brings together two organizations with a shared mission: making aviation more accessible, transparent, and supportive for individuals pursuing a career in flight.
PPOT has built a nationwide community of over 3,000 members, including more than 700 volunteer mentors from across the aviation industry—spanning airline, corporate, military, and general aviation sectors. Through its mentorship programs, scholarship initiatives, and educational resources, PPOT provides aspiring pilots with guidance at every stage of their journey.
Skyfarer Academy offers a technology-enabled platform that connects students and pilots with instructors, flight schools, and aviation services across the United States. The platform supports both live online and in-person training, helping student pilots discover, compare, and book instruction while simplifying the overall training experience.
Expanding Access to Mentorship and Training
Through this partnership, Skyfarer and PPOT will collaborate to bridge the gap between mentorship and actionable training opportunities. PPOT members will gain access to complimentary introductory sessions with instructors on Skyfarer, allowing them to explore training options, ask questions, and connect with experienced educators.
In addition, both organizations will work together on educational initiatives, including co-hosted webinars, shared resources, and industry outreach efforts designed to support aspiring pilots as they progress through their training and career pathways.
Leadership Perspectives
“Mentorship plays a critical role in shaping the next generation of pilots,” said Nick Tsang, Founder of Skyfarer Academy. “We’ve seen firsthand how guidance and access to the right resources can make a meaningful difference in a pilot’s journey. Partnering with PPOT allows us to extend that support further by connecting mentorship with accessible training opportunities.”
“PPOT was founded on the principle of pilots supporting pilots,” said Joseph Tar Schmidt, President of Professional Pilots of Tomorrow. “Our goal has always been to provide aspiring pilots with the information and mentorship they need to make informed decisions. Partnering with Skyfarer helps expand the resources available to our members and strengthens the pathway from mentorship to real-world training.”
Looking Ahead
As part of the collaboration, both organizations will continue exploring additional opportunities to support the aviation community, including scholarship initiatives, expanded training access, and new tools to improve the pilot training journey.
