Smartflyer Announces Collaboration with University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons
Switzerland – Smartflyer, a new Swiss‑based manufacturer of sustainable training aircraft, has announced a new collaboration with University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR / UAS Grisons) on its Master’s programme in Sustainable Business Development. Under this partnership, FHGR students will work directly on real-world challenges posed by Smartflyer — from decarbonising general aviation to devising viable business models for its SF‑1 aircraft.
-
Through the collaboration, students will engage with live business case studies, applying sustainability and entrepreneurial methods in aviation contexts.
-
Smartflyer CEO Rolf Stuber framed the initiative as “bringing sustainability into practice … translating ideas into actionable solutions and test[ing] them on real use cases.”
-
The partnership aligns with Smartflyer’s ongoing efforts to finalize the SF‑1 prototype, ahead of its planned first flight in 2026 and eventual certification roadmap toward 2030
