South Africa – Flight training organization 43 Air School has welcomed eight new cadet pilots across two October 2026 intakes at its Port Alfred training academy, supporting Indian airline IndiGo's Cadet Pilot Program through its partnerships with Insight Aviation and Garuda Aviation.

The two intakes comprise:
- 5 students under the IndiGo Insight Aviation pathway.
- 3 students under the Garuda Aviation IndiGo pathway.
Both programs provide structured training pathways for aspiring IndiGo pilots, with 43 Air School delivering the South African flight training component. The wider programs incorporate ground school, commercial pilot licensing, Indian DGCA license conversion and Airbus A320 type rating training.
Insight Aviation has partnered with 43 Air School for IndiGo cadet training since 2019, while Garuda Aviation Academy's IndiGo partnership was announced in June 2024. Both organizations use the South African academy for flight training within their respective cadet programs.
AFM previously reported that 43 Air School announced a 40% expansion of its Port Alfred training capacity in March 2026, including plans to increase its fleet to 70 aircraft, add two flight simulators and expand its flight instructor workforce.
