South Africa's Excellentia Airline Academy Selects Intuos for Flight Training Operations

October 8, 2026

South Africa – Excellentia Airline Academy, a flight training group based in South Africa, has selected Italian aviation technology provider Intuos to support operational data management and training oversight across its two approved training organisations (ATOs), Skyhawk Aviation and Aeronav Academy. The agreement forms part of Excellentia's ongoing investment in flight training infrastructure and operational systems as it expands its training activities.

  • Excellentia Airline Academy currently reports a combined fleet of nearly 30 training aircraft across its two flight schools, operating from Grand Central Airport and Lanseria International Airport in the Johannesburg area. The Intuos agreement is intended to support operational efficiency, safety monitoring and data-driven decision-making across both ATOs.
  • Excellentia stated that introducing Intuos technology will allow its teams to make better use of operational information, supporting improvements in flight training management, safety oversight and operational performance.
  • AFM previously reported that Excellentia acquired Skyhawk Aviation and Aeronav Academy in 2025, consolidating the two South African flight training organisations under a single group. In April 2026, the academy announced plans to acquire another 10 Sling NGT aircraft as part of its broader fleet expansion strategy.
  • The agreement adds another South African aviation training customer to Intuos' international operations.

Statements

  • “As Excellentia Airline Academy grows, we are committed to giving our teams practical tools that support safe, efficient operations and high-quality training. We're excited to introduce Intuos technology to help us make better use of our operational data and support continuous improvement across our flight schools,” said Benjamin Mathee, COO of Excellentia Airline Academy.
  • “Excellentia Airline Academy is the kind of forward-looking organization we are excited to work with, combining training excellence, technology and a strong safety culture.
