Bangladesh – US-Bangla Airlines, one of Bangladesh’s largest private carriers, has announced a new phase of its cadet pilot recruitment and training initiative to support long-term pilot supply, including financing ab initio training for academically strong Bangladeshi students.
- US-Bangla Airlines operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including Airbus A330-300s and Boeing 737-800s, and continues to prepare for further fleet and network expansion.
- The airline launched its cadet pilot and maintenance engineer recruitment track in 2022, selecting candidates through an internal assessment process led by its human resources team.
- To date, 22 trainee pilots have completed professional flight training at Epic Flight Academy in Florida, USA, and have joined the airline as flight crew. Five additional trainees are nearing completion, with seven more awaiting the start of their courses.
- Successful graduates obtain an FAA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) before transitioning to First Officer roles at US-Bangla Airlines.
- The current recruitment round targets Bangladeshi citizens aged 17–22 meeting strict academic, medical, and personal eligibility requirements, including GPA thresholds, science-stream qualifications, English proficiency, and CAAB Class-1 medical certification.
- Candidates must complete a multi-stage evaluation process, including IQ tests, written exams in English, Mathematics and Physics, aptitude assessments, psychometric screening, medical examinations, and final interviews.
