South East Nation to Procure 80 US-Manufactured Aircraft Under USD 20B Trade Agreement with United States

Thailand & USA – A new framework has been announced under the “Agreement on Reciprocal Trade” between the United States and Thailand, representing a significant bilateral trade expansion that includes the procurement of 80 U.S.-manufactured aircraft.

• The Agreement on Reciprocal Trade builds upon the 1966 Treaty of Amity and Economic Relations and the 2002 U.S.–Thailand Trade and Investment Framework Agreement.

• Thailand will purchase 80 U.S.-manufactured aircraft, valued at approximately USD 18.8 billion, making this one of the largest single aviation procurements by the country.
