Southeast Asian Air Force Inaugurates Full-Motion Helicopter Simulator in 2025

Philippines – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has inaugurated its first two-in-one full-motion helicopter flight simulator (FMFS) at Benito Ebuen Air Base, a significant step in enhancing its rotary-wing training capabilities. The simulator, delivered by SIMULTEC SRL of Romania, supports interchangeable cockpits for S-70i Black Hawk and Bell 412EP helicopters.

  • The two-in-one full-motion flight simulator features interchangeable cockpits for both the S-70i Black Hawk and Bell 412EP helicopter types
  • The simulator enables PAF pilots to undergo immersive and realistic flight training, covering complex procedures and emergency scenarios
  • Aims to reduce reliance on operational aircraft, saving on fuel, maintenance, and aircraft availability during downtimes
  • Simulator delivered under Horizon 1 of the AFP Modernization Program, with a contract value of PHP 246 million
  • Manufactured and supplied by SIMULTEC SRL (Romania), the simulator was delivered in March, installed in August, and fully accepted in November 2025
