Southeast Asian Airline Orders Full-Scale Cabin Fire and Smoke Training Device for 2027 Delivery

Philippines – Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has selected Netherlands-based training equipment manufacturer Flame Aviation to supply a V9000 Commander Cabin Fire + Smoke Trainer, with delivery scheduled for 2027. The acquisition will add dedicated practical fire and smoke simulation capacity as Cebu Pacific expands the in-house cabin crew training infrastructure it established in Parañaque earlier in 2026.

• One V9000 Commander is scheduled for delivery to Cebu Pacific in 2027.
• Cebu Pacific's device will incorporate Flame Aviation's 2027 version of its Flame Envision instructor interface, which is used to control and manage cabin fire and smoke training scenarios.
• Flame Aviation's standard V9000 Commander is a double-cabin trainer measuring approximately 9.0 metres by 4.8 metres by 2.6 metres and provides observation capacity for between 18 and 25 people. It can be installed indoors or outdoors.
• The standard V9000 configuration supports simulated fires involving laptops, smartphones, tablets, ovens, seats, luggage compartments and lavatory waste bins. Training functionality also includes smoke, heat, glowing spots, short-circuit effects and smoke detection.
• The device includes instructor-controlled lesson plans and adjustable training difficulty and exercise timing, while Flame Aviation also supplies reusable training extinguishers and an automatic extinguisher-refilling system.
• Cebu Pacific inaugurated its 1,685-square-metre Training Academy in Parañaque City in April 2026. The facility already includes Airbus A330 and ATR door trainers, cabin mock-ups, slide trainers, classrooms and equipment rooms for pilot and cabin crew instruction.
