Thailand – Thai carriers Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, and Thai AirAsia are continuing to cancel and reduce flights through the second and third quarters of 2026 as the prolonged Iran war-driven jet fuel crisis pushes Jet A-1 prices to two to three times pre-conflict levels, fundamentally altering airline cost structures across the Thai aviation sector.

Jet A-1 aviation fuel has risen from approximately USD 80 per barrel to more than USD 240 per barrel as a result of the Middle East conflict, a threefold increase that has driven fuel's share of total airline operating costs from approximately 30% to more than 50%.
The sustained fuel price shock, compounded by Thailand's low travel season in Q2 and Q3, has prompted route suspensions, reduced frequencies, and fare restructuring across all three carriers as airlines seek to reflect actual operating costs in ticket pricing.
Additionally since June the Gulf Carrier's are said to have dropped fares to recapture marketshare.
