Lithuania – Spanish flight simulation equipment manufacturer Virtual Fly has installed four COMBO GA1 flight simulators at a Newton Room educational facility in Lithuania, in collaboration with Norwegian nonprofit organisation FIRST Scandinavia. The installation supports the Newton program's aviation-focused Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education activities, providing students with hands-on exposure to aircraft controls, flight procedures and aviation principles.

  • Four COMBO GA1 simulators have been installed at the Lithuanian facility, providing dedicated workstations for students to undertake practical aviation learning activities using simulated aircraft cockpits.
  • The installation forms part of the Newton Room educational concept developed by FIRST Scandinavia, which uses aviation simulation, mission planning and practical exercises to introduce students to mathematics, physics, engineering and aviation-related careers.
  • Virtual Fly has supplied simulation equipment to several Newton Room projects internationally. Its collaboration with FIRST Scandinavia includes previous COMBO simulator installations supporting educational facilities in Poland and Spain.
  • AFM previously reported that Virtual Fly supplied three DUO SIM MEG full-motion flight simulators to a Newton Flight Academy in Brandenburg, Germany, in July 2024. The German facility combined flight simulation with laboratory-based STEM learning activities.
  • FIRST Scandinavia reports that its Newton educational initiatives have reached more than 700,000 children and young people, with 55 Newton Rooms across its international network.
  • The COMBO GA1 is a compact fixed-base simulator incorporating a Garmin G1000-style glass cockpit, YOKO+ flight controls, RUDDO+ rudder pedals and a TQ6+ throttle quadrant. The system includes a 43-inch display, computer and X-Plane simulation software, supporting simulated single-engine, multi-engine and other aircraft configurations.
