Spartan College Tulsa Aviation Flight and AMT Students Receive Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation Scholarships

Oklahoma, USA – Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology has announced that 13 students from its Tulsa campus aviation flight and aviation maintenance technology programmes have been selected as recipients of Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation Work Ethic Scholarships, awarded on 25 August 2026, addressing the nation's skilled labor gap in aviation and skilled trades.

• 13 Spartan College Tulsa campus students have been selected as Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship recipients across aviation flight (10 students) and aviation maintenance technology (3 students) programmes.
• Aviation Flight Recipients: Chase White, Braden Evans, Jaiden Graves, Owen Wright, Gabriel Hahn, David Sandbach Jr., Nolan Ploutz, Averry Cannon, Rose Biggs, Ian DeArmond.
• Aviation Maintenance Technology Recipients: Benjamin Ellis, Derick James, Shelby Mulama.
• The Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation’s Work Ethic Scholarship Program supports students enrolled or planning to enrol in accredited skilled-trade programs of two years or less. Aviation Technology is included among its eligible transportation and equipment training categories.
• Spartan’s 2026 Tulsa cost schedule lists the 17-month Aviation Flight Associate of Applied Science program at $98,451. Its Aviation Maintenance Technology program is listed at $55,655 for the 20-month diploma and $68,331 for the 23-month Associate of Applied Science.
• The foundation reported awarding 322 scholarships worth a combined $3 million in the first round of its 2026 program, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $34,000 and averaging $9,100. It has set a funding pool of up to $10 million for scholarships during 2026.
• Spartan’s Aviation Flight program is FAA Part 141 approved and can be completed in as few as 17 months. Its Tulsa flight facility operates more than 50 training aircraft including Cessna 172s, Piper Archers and Piper Seminoles, supported by Frasca and Redbird training devices.
• Spartan’s Tulsa Aviation Maintenance Technology programs are FAA Part 147 approved and are designed to prepare graduates for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification process.
• Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology was founded in 1928 as Spartan School of Aeronautics; over nearly a century, Spartan has trained more than 100,000 pilots and technicians, with students coming from all 50 states and more than 40 countries.
• Spartan operates across four campuses in Tulsa (Oklahoma), Denver (Colorado), Los Angeles (California), and Inland Empire (California).
