Spartan Flight Academy Joins Envoy Air Cadet Program

Texas, USA – American Airlines Group regional carrier Envoy Air has added Spartan Flight Academy in Grand Prairie, Texas, as a partner school in its Cadet Program, creating a structured pathway from flight training through Envoy and potentially onward to American Airlines.

• Up to $15,000 in bonuses are available to pilots who progress to the Cadet Instructor level within Envoy's programme. Cadet Instructors must hold a Certified Flight Instructor certificate with an Instrument Airplane rating, pass Envoy's Internal Review Board and sign a Letter of Commitment.
• The partnership was formally signed on August 31, 2026 at Envoy's headquarters in Irving, Texas, with the airline announcing Spartan Flight Academy as its latest partner school on September 1.
• Students can initially enter the Envoy Cadet Program after obtaining a Private Pilot Certificate while enrolled at a partner school and successfully completing an HR interview. They can subsequently progress to Cadet Instructor status as their qualifications and experience increase.
• For qualified cadets who reach ATP or Restricted ATP minimum flight-experience requirements but still require the ATP Certification Training Program, Envoy states that it will pay for ATP-CTP training and provide hotel accommodation and ground transportation. After successful ATP-CTP completion and the written examination, qualifying cadets are placed into the next available Envoy new-hire class without another interview.
• Envoy describes the programme as a pathway through its regional operation and ultimately toward American Airlines. Envoy is wholly owned by American Airlines Group and operates regional services under the American Eagle brand.
• Spartan Flight Academy operates at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and currently delivers FAA Part 141 training in addition to Part 61 training. Its programmes cover Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot and Multi-Engine qualifications.
• The academy's current published fleet comprises 15 aircraft: four Piper PA-28-181 Archers, three Cessna 182 Skylanes, six Cessna 172 Skyhawks, one Cessna 150 and one Beechcraft Baron. It also operates one Redbird FMX training device.
• Spartan Flight Academy entered the Dallas-Fort Worth market earlier in 2026 after Spartan Education Group introduced the Grand Prairie operation, previously operated as Aviator Air Flight School, into its training network. The academy operates independently from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology.
• Envoy's current Cadet Program network includes university and commercial flight-school partners across the United States. Other participating training organisations include ATP Flight School, CAE, McAir Aviation, Illinois Aviation Academy, Acron Aviation Academy and Skyborne, among others.
• AFM previously reported that Spartan Education Group launched Spartan Flight Academy at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport in March 2026, expanding its pilot-training network into the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
• Envoy currently operates an all-Embraer E170/E175 fleet and states that it has more than 180 aircraft, with plans to grow to at least 214 aircraft by the end of 2027.
