Tecnam Announces Vectored Approach Flight Academy’s Transition to an All-New Tecnam Fleet

Texas, USA – Vectored Approach Flight Academy has taken delivery of two Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft and ordered a third as it begins transitioning its training operation to a new Tecnam fleet. 

• Vectored Approach identified the P-Mentor and P2010 as the planned primary aircraft for its academy fleet. The academy displayed its first P-Mentor, registered N511US, with Tecnam during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026.
• The P-Mentor is a two-seat, FAA- and EASA-certified IFR trainer powered by a 100hp Rotax 912iSc3 engine. Tecnam lists a fuel consumption of approximately four US gallons per hour and positions the aircraft for private pilot, instrument and upset-prevention and recovery training.
• The planned P2010 180hp is a four-seat, single-engine aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and a GFC 700 autopilot. The aircraft is powered by a Lycoming IO-360 engine and is certified under FAA Part 23 and EASA CS-23 standards.
• Vectored Approach Flight Academy said the aircraft will support instruction covering conventional handling skills together with flight-management, automation and flight-path awareness concepts. Its curriculum also incorporates elements drawn from Safety Management Systems, Flight Operations Quality Assurance and Advanced Qualification Program practices.
• The academy currently supports more than 50 active students through six flight instructors.
• AFM previously reported that Vectored Approach purchased a Tecnam aircraft through US dealership Central Flying Service in June 2026. The latest announcement confirms that the academy has received two P-Mentors, has a third on order and intends to use the P2010 within its future fleet.
