India – Tecnam, one of the world's leading manufacturers of piston flight training aircraft, has completed a comprehensive technical training and support programme for six of India's premier Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) — deploying specialist mechanics directly from its Capua headquarters to provide hands-on maintenance training to Indian ground crews, following the OEM's recent establishment of direct factory representation in the country.

  • The programme was conducted in close cooperation with India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and covered six major academies: ARCA Aviation, Chimes Aviation Academy, Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC), Orient Flights, Red Bird Aviation, and Vision Flying Training Institute — all significant Tecnam fleet operators within the rapidly scaling Indian flight training market.
  • Tecnam's factory-deployed mechanics conducted hands-on training with Indian maintenance crews covering all aspects of fleet management, from routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the fuel-efficient Rotax and Continental diesel engines to advanced glass-cockpit avionics systems — with training delivered to the same standards applied at Tecnam's Italian headquarters.
  • The direct technical training programme is an extension of Tecnam's strategic transition to direct factory representation in India, announced at Wings India 2026 in February, through which the OEM committed to closer proximity to its Indian customers — replacing third-party distribution with direct support relationships across sales, technical services, and spare parts logistics.

Statements

  • "Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the maintenance teams of major Indian FTOs has been incredibly rewarding. The Indian technicians are highly skilled and deeply committed to aviation safety. By bringing our factory procedures directly to their hangars, we are ensuring that every Tecnam aircraft in India is maintained to the exact same rigorous standards as it would be right here in Capua. This hands-on knowledge transfer is the key to maximizing fleet uptime and safety," said Antoniou Constantinos, Maintenance Instructor, Tecnam.
  • "At Tecnam, we have always believed that delivering an aircraft is just the beginning of our partnership. Our recent transition to direct factory representation in India was a promise to be closer to our customers, and this extensive technical training program is that promise in action. We are deeply invested in the success of the Indian flight training sector," said Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer, Tecnam.
