Tecnam Launches P2006T NG Twin in USA and Canada, Deliveries Expected 2027
USA & Canada – Tecnam, the Italian aircraft manufacturer, has officially launched its P2006T NG (Next Generation) twin-engine aircraft in the United States and Canada, reinforcing its commitment to professional flight training markets in North America. The announcement was made on January 19, 2026, with FAA certification expected in Q4 2026 and first deliveries scheduled for Q1 2027.

The P2006T NG builds on the success of the P2006T MkII, a widely adopted platform in flight school multi-engine training, known for its low operating cost, reliability, and flexibility.

Designed in consultation with global training providers, the NG variant introduces significant enhancements including:

Fuel-injected Rotax 912iSc3 engines for greater fuel efficiency and operational savings;

Increased MTOW for higher payload and mission versatility;

Improved cockpit access with a new pilot-side door to support high-frequency training operations;

Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite with integrated FMS keyboard and autopilot—aligned with modern airline training standards.

Tecnam will offer the P2006T NG in multiple configurations for the North American market:

Trainer – optimised for professional multi-engine instruction;

Sport – with premium interior finishes for private operators;

Special Mission Platform (SMP) – adaptable for surveillance and utility applications.

Though not yet FAA-certified, the P2006T NG is already validated and operating in international markets, reinforcing its readiness and maturity.

Tecnam has begun allocating production slots for U.S. and Canadian customers in advance of the aircraft’s 2027 delivery timeline.
