USA – Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam has launched a priority slot deposit program for two models from its new MOSAIK59 product line — the Astore GT and P2008 Next Generation — allowing pilots, flight schools, and operators to secure early production positions ahead of the FAA's Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) rule implementation, with targeted deliveries in Q1 and Q2 2027.

  • The MOSAIC regulations replace the previous rigid 1,320 lb weight limit for Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) with performance-based criteria centred around a 59-knot clean stall speed, significantly expanding the capabilities permissible within the LSA and Part 22 registration framework.
  • A fully refundable deposit of $10,000 is required to secure a priority delivery slot.
  • The two MOSAIK59 models available under the program are:
    • Astore GT: A low-wing cruiser powered by the Rotax 916iS (160 HP) with optional air conditioning and an optional airframe parachute system.
    • P2008 Next Generation: A high-wing aircraft with a significantly increased Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) enabling full-fuel, two-adult payload with margin, available with either the Rotax 916iS or the 912iS engine, also with optional air conditioning and airframe parachute.

Statements

  • "MOSAIC opens a new era of opportunities across the aviation community, and we want to ensure our customers are the very first to benefit. Our MOSAIK59 line is engineered to maximize these new privileges. This deposit program is our way of helping pilots access the future of aviation with guaranteed priority on our production line," said Giovanni Pascale Langer, Managing Director, Tecnam S.p.A.
