Europe – Tecnam, the Italian aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Capua, has announced a strategic partnership with CENFORTEC, Europe's largest aircraft maintenance technician school based in Cascais, Portugal, creating exclusive internship opportunities and professional development pathways that connect aviation maintenance education directly with an original equipment manufacturer.

  • The partnership is designed to bridge the gap between classroom education and the practical demands of the aerospace sector, providing CENFORTEC's student body of over 300 trainees with direct OEM access to Tecnam's aircraft platforms, manufacturing processes, and maintenance practices.
  • For CENFORTEC students, the alliance expands internship opportunities with hands-on, practical experience at a major aircraft OEM — a pathway that strengthens employability and builds skills directly aligned with in-service fleet maintenance requirements. The collaboration also contributes to the continuous enhancement of CENFORTEC's training programmes.
  • The partnership is relevant to the broader pilot training ecosystem as aircraft maintenance capacity is a critical enabler of flight training operations. Flight schools operating Tecnam aircraft — a widely adopted platform across European and global ATOs — benefit from a growing pool of manufacturer-trained maintenance technicians who understand OEM specifications and airworthiness standards.
  • CENFORTEC was established in Portugal in 2011 and holds EASA Part 147 certification from Portugal's National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) under Regulation 1321/2014, as well as DGERT accreditation. The school offers certified classroom and distance learning maintenance training programmes and has established partnerships with major aeronautical companies for on-the-job training and graduate employment.

Statements

  • "Together we can create the invisible heroes of aviation. This partnership with Tecnam is a tremendous milestone that will give our students the real-world OEM exposure they need to excel in their careers and keep the global fleet flying safely," said André Garcia, CEO of CENFORTEC.
  • "At Tecnam, we know that the safety and efficiency of our aircraft rely heavily on the expertise of the technicians on the ground. We are thrilled to partner with Europe's largest maintenance training facility to help nurture the next generation of highly skilled aviation professionals," said Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer at Tecnam.
