Texas, USA – Texas State University (TXST) and FAA Part 141 flight training provider US Aviation Academy have expanded their existing partnership to include the academy's Conroe training centre, north of Houston, for students pursuing TXST's Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) in Aviation Science. Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2027 intake, extending access to combined university education and professional flight training in the Greater Houston area.
- Texas State University's published Conroe training schedule lists seven fixed-wing flight training courses with combined fees of USD 111,065 through Spring 2027, excluding university tuition. The courses cover private pilot training, instrument flying, commercial flight training, flight instruction and multi-engine operations. The university notes that flight training fees are subject to annual adjustment.
- Conroe becomes the fifth US Aviation Academy training location included in the TXST partnership, joining Denton and New Braunfels in Texas, Atlanta in Georgia and Kansas City in Kansas, which were announced for the Fall 2026 intake.
- The Aviation Science degree comprises 120 credit hours, combining academic coursework with practical training delivered by FAA Part 141-approved partners. Students can complete university coursework through TXST's Accelerated Online Program while undertaking in-person flight instruction at their designated training location.
- US Aviation Academy's existing Conroe campus operates at Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport (KCXO), providing private pilot, instrument rating, commercial single-engine and multi-engine, and flight instructor training. The location serves prospective pilots from Houston, The Woodlands and surrounding communities.
- AFM previously reported that Texas State University and US Aviation Academy established their combined degree and flight training partnership in June 2026, initially covering four US Aviation Academy locations. The latest addition extends the partnership to the Houston metropolitan area.
