Texas, USA Flight Training Academy Remains Unaffected by Owner’s Business Bankruptcy in October 2025

November 2, 2025

Texas, USA - The owner of Chennault Aviation Academy, Aaron Wang, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Southern District of Texas for his holding company GAI Air, LLC, and its affiliates Kachina Air and AWMR, following a three-year legal dispute over a failed logistics joint venture. Importantly, the flight school operation itself is not part of the bankruptcy filing and continues to operate normally.

  • The bankruptcy stems from a separate business venture, Radius Flex Logistics, jointly launched by Kachina Air and Creek Crossing Management LLC in June 2021 to provide nationwide air cargo services from Chennault Airfield. The venture collapsed after a year, leading both parties to file lawsuits alleging breach of fiduciary duty and fraud.
  • In June 2025, a Texas district court awarded Creek Crossing $2.7 million in damages against Wang and Kachina Air. Wang has since appealed the ruling, asserting that he and his companies were unfairly treated in court and reporting negative net value for the entities involved.
  • On October 24, 2025, Wang filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for GAI Air and its affiliates to seek reorganization protection while the appeal proceeds.
  • Wang’s attorney, Field Hudgens of the Hudgens Law Firm, stated that “Mr. Wang is doing a good job with his business model. He still has his students, he still has his teachers and everything seems to be going good.”
  • Hudgens confirmed that Kachina Air, Inc. retains its FAA certificate and continues operations under reorganization.
  • Creek Crossing’s attorney, Eric Yollick, has filed a motion to dismiss the bankruptcy, alleging it was made “in bad faith” to delay enforcement of the $2.7 million judgment. The court has not yet ruled on the motion.
  • Despite the legal and financial dispute, Wang reaffirmed that Chennault Aviation Academy’s training operations remain unaffected, stating the academy continues to train students “at the highest standards for aviators.”
