Turkish Aerospace Industries Enhances Hurjet Jet Trainer Aircraft Specifications in 2025

Ankara, Türkiye – based Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has announced updates to the technical specifications of its Hurjet jet trainer aircraft. These enhancements aim to strengthen the aircraft’s role in the Turkish Air Force and position it as a competitive option for export markets.

  • The Hurjet jet trainer is intended to replace older T-38 and F-5 aircraft used by the Turkish Air Force for training, aerobatic performances, and other operational roles, including light attack missions and air patrols.
  • Key updates to the aircraft’s specifications include:
    • Length increased to 13.7 meters (previously 13.6 meters).
    • Height reduced to 4.1 meters (previously 5.1 meters).
    • Range decreased to 1,060 nautical miles (down from 1,200 nautical miles).
    • Maximum sustained G-force improved from 5.5G to 6.3G at 15,000 feet altitude.
    • Climb rate increased to 48,500 feet per minute.
    • Payload capacity expanded to 7,500 lbs (up from 6,000 lbs).
  • The aircraft has completed successful prototype test flights, including one over the Pyramids of Giza, drawing international attention.
  • The enhancements make the Hurjet a vital asset for Türkiye’s defense capabilities and a competitive choice for export markets.
