Türkiye – Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Türkiye and the airline that flies to the most countries in the world, has announced executive management changes at Board and CEO level, appointing Prof. Murat Şeker as Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, and Ahmet Olmuştur as Chief Executive Officer.

  • Prof. Murat Şeker, who has served as Turkish Airlines' Chief Financial Officer since July 2016 and as a Board and Executive Committee member since March 2021, takes on the Chairman role. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota, served as an Economist at the World Bank from 2008 to 2013, and has chaired IATA's Financial Advisory Council since 2025. He also serves as a Board Member of Turkish Technic and SunExpress.
  • Ahmet Olmuştur, who has been with Turkish Airlines since joining as a part-time call centre employee in 2000 and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer since 2024, is appointed CEO. He holds an MBA through an international programme conducted in collaboration with Long Island University, European Business School (London), and Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci (Paris). He has held key roles in revenue management, pricing strategy, route network planning, and commercial operations, and serves as a Board Member of SunExpress and Turkish Technic.
  • The leadership transition positions Turkish Airlines for continued strategic development under a CFO-to-Chairman and CCO-to-CEO succession model, with both appointees bringing extensive internal experience at the carrier.
