Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Turkey, has shared its ambitious recruitment plans through the publication of job postings for various positions under the titles “Take-Off 101,” “Take-Off Jr.,” and “Take-Off Cadet.” The flagship carrier aims to bolster its workforce in both flight and ground roles, aligning with its strategic objectives for 2033.

Abdulkerim Çay, Deputy General Manager of Human Resources at Turkish Airlines, shared insights into the airline’s recruitment policies at the “Career Summit” organized by Istanbul Technical University. He emphasized, “We strive to increase the number of our employees every year in line with our partnership’s growth strategies; we contribute to the Turkish economy with our policies to increase employment.” Çay highlighted the airline’s commitment, revealing that in 2023, Turkish Airlines successfully recruited 5,134 employees, spanning both flight and ground crews. The airline aims to replicate this achievement in 2024, planning to welcome approximately 5,000 new employees. Collaborating with subsidiary companies, Turkish Airlines envisions expanding its current employee base of around 84,000 to an impressive 150,000 by the end of the decade.

The recruitment drive includes programs like “Take-Off 101 (Part-Time Student)” and “Take-Off Jr.,” specifically designed to provide opportunities for individuals aspiring to launch their careers in aviation. With the “Take-Off 101 (Part-Time Student)” initiative, Turkish Airlines offers 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate students the chance to gain practical work experience while continuing their education. Successful candidates have the opportunity to work at Turkish Airlines for a total of 12 months over two semesters. This opportunity is available to young citizens of the Republic of Turkey born on or after January 1, 1998.

For senior undergraduate students and recent graduates, the “Take-Off Jr.” program opens up full-time employment opportunities. The program aims to empower talented individuals who successfully navigate the evaluation processes. Applicants born on or after January 1, 1997, can apply for this program, with proficiency in English, strong communication skills, a focus on development, innovative thinking, and teamwork orientation being key preferences. Applications for both programs will be accepted until March 10, 2024.

Furthermore, Turkish Airlines introduces the “Take-Off Cadet” program, inviting all undergraduate graduates, regardless of their department, and individuals born between December 31, 2003, and January 1, 1994, to join the airline’s family. Successful candidates in the recruitment process will undergo a comprehensive 2-year training program. The program offers various benefits, including 2 gross minimum wage salaries, accommodation, rental assistance, meal cards, insurance, and discounted tickets during the training period. Interested individuals can apply for this program until April 30, 2024, marking a significant opportunity for aspiring pilots.
