Turkish Airlines Quality Assurance Personnel Reports Completion of Two-Day HAVELSAN Campus Inspection in September 2026

Türkiye – Turkish Airlines Captain and Quality Assurance Auditor Uğur Demiröz has reported the completion of a two-day inspection at HAVELSAN's Ankara campus on September 2-3, 2026. The activity comes as Turkish Airlines expands both its HAVELSAN simulator fleet and its wider flight-training infrastructure.

• The inspection was conducted over September 2-3 and was described by Demiröz as having been successfully completed.
• Turkish Airlines and HAVELSAN already operate a Turkish Airlines training facility within HAVELSAN's Ankara premises. The center was established in 2023 following qualification of HAVELSAN-built Boeing 737 MAX simulators, with the facility also housing a Boeing 737NG full flight simulator.
• The inspection comes less than two months after Turkish Airlines agreed to acquire a further 12 HAVELSAN training devices comprising eight Full Flight Simulators and four Flight Training Devices. The airline said the equipment will support new simulator hangars, whose first phase is scheduled to enter operation in 2027, and a new Flight Training Center planned for completion in 2028.
• Demiröz had previously visited the same HAVELSAN campus on behalf of Turkish Airlines' Quality Assurance Directorate for the VI National FSTD Workshop on February 4-5, 2025. HAVELSAN said that event brought together approximately 150 participants representing more than 50 airlines, simulator training centers and simulator manufacturers, with discussions covering regulatory changes, FSTD operations and training infrastructure.
• AFM previously reported that Turkish Airlines' Quality Assurance Directorate concluded its traditional simulator "Flyout" quality-control flight methodology in June 2026 as it transitioned toward a revised organizational structure and simulator oversight model aligned with updated EASA requirements.
• Turkish Airlines' HAVELSAN-built training infrastructure includes Airbus A320, Boeing 737 MAX and Boeing 737NG full flight simulators. In July 2026, HAVELSAN stated that six of its EASA Level D devices were then in Turkish Airlines operation — three A320neo/CEO FFS, two 737 MAX FFS and one 737NG FFS — while another 737 MAX simulator had completed EASA certification.
