Türkiye’s HAVELSAN New Imaging System Starview Secures EASA Certification in Airbus A320 FFS in December 2025

28th Dec 2025

Turkiye – headquartered flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN, has confirmed that its Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) developed for Turkish Airlines has received EASA Level D certification and is now operational within the airline’s pilot training infrastructure.

  • The newly certified device supports Airbus A320 CEO and NEO configurations with three different engine options, expanding Turkish Airlines’ in-house simulator capacity for initial, recurrent, and upgrade training.

  • The simulator is installed at the Turkish Airlines training centre in Istanbul and is already being used in active pilot training operations.

  • A key milestone within the certification programme was the successful EASA Level D qualification of HAVELSAN’s proprietary STARVIEW imaging system, marking its first-ever EASA Level D approval and debuting its use within an operational airline simulator environment.

  • HAVELSAN has stated its capability to manufacture up to eight full-flight simulators per year, while supporting airlines with flexible simulator centre expansion solutions.

  • The company currently has more than six full-flight simulators under construction, supported by an increased focus on after-sales support and long-term cooperation projects with airline and training centre customers.

  • “The Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator, which we developed for the training infrastructure of Turkish Airlines with three different engine options in CEO and NEO configurations, has received EASA Level D certification and is ready to provide training,” said Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, General Manager of HAVELSAN.

  • “Our Imaging System STARVIEW, which we developed with national resources, passed the EASA Level D certification processes for the first time and started to be used in the simulator,” Nacar added.
