Türkiye – Ankara headquartered flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN marked a milestone visit by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to its facilities, highlighting four decades of flight simulator development and a growing global footprint across military and civil aviation training platforms.

  • President Erdoğan’s visit underscored HAVELSAN’s role in advancing Türkiye’s sovereign defence and simulation capabilities.
  • The company’s first Full Flight Simulator (FFS), the CN-235 FFS developed for the Turkish Air Force more than two decades ago, remains operational and delivers more than 2,500 training hours annually.
  • Over the past 40 years, HAVELSAN has developed, manufactured and deployed hundreds of flight simulators across multiple military and civil aircraft platforms.
  • Upon completion of its current backlog, HAVELSAN expects to have delivered more than 400 simulators across over 60 different platforms to national and international customers.
  • The company’s portfolio now supports pilot training operations globally, spanning fixed-wing, rotary-wing and special mission platforms.
  • The milestone reflects Türkiye’s long-term strategy to localize high-value training technologies and reduce reliance on foreign simulation providers, while simultaneously expanding export capability.
