Türkiye - SunExpress, the leisure airline joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa Group, has expanded its in-house pilot training infrastructure with the introduction of a Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device (FTD) Level 2 at its headquarters in Antalya.

  • The newly installed B737NG FTD Level 2 simulator was developed by Turkish flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN.
  • The device is expected to support approximately 500 hours of pilot training capacity per month, strengthening the airline’s internal pilot training capabilities.
  • The simulator represents the first platform in Türkiye produced and certified at a level enabling advanced multi-crew training aligned with international aviation standards.
  • Designed to replicate the real Boeing 737NG cockpit layout, the training device enables pilot candidates and active line pilots to perform procedure-based training including normal and abnormal operational scenarios.
  • The simulator also integrates HAVELSAN’s in-house developed STARVIEW-B collimated imaging system.
