United Arab Emirates – Dubai-based airline flydubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Aviation University to launch a Flight Dispatcher Cadet Program, targeting Emirati nationals with no prior aviation experience.
- The program will launch in July 2026 and aims to prepare cadets for the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) approved flight dispatcher licence through the Flight Dispatcher Initial Course (FDIC).
- The FDIC is a 10-week CAR Part II approved course covering technical and operational disciplines such as aviation law, meteorology, aircraft performance, flight planning, and human factors, with an emphasis on collaboration with pilots for safe and efficient operations.
- Cadets will train at Emirates Aviation University, which brings over 30 years of experience in delivering specialised aviation education and training.
- Upon successful completion, candidates will receive a Certificate of Course Completion, qualifying them to obtain a flight dispatcher licence and pursue operational roles within flydubai or the wider UAE aviation sector.
- This initiative is part of flydubai’s broader internal training ecosystem, which also includes its Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) cadet program, Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Apprenticeship, and internship opportunities across business units.
