United Arab Emirates – Vertical AUPRT, a UAE‑based specialised upset prevention and recovery training provider part of the Action Flight Aviation Group, has celebrated a cohort of pilots completing its Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (A‑UPRT).

  • The course combines structured ground school instruction with airborne training in the Extra 330, an aerobatic platform chosen to expose pilots to realistic upset conditions and comprehensive manoeuvre envelopes.
  • Flight instructors Captain Rob Akron, Captain Wayne Jack, and Captain Joel Haski brought extensive operational experience to the training.
  • What distinguished this group was their focus on the “why behind the manoeuvres”—emphasising not just procedural mastery but cognitive understanding of aerodynamics and upset psychology.
  • Graduates include pilots advancing toward airline careers, including prospective roles with flydubai and Air Arabia.

Just last month AFM reported that Action Flight Aviation, an approved ATO based at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, had launched its Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) program for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to addressing Loss of Control‑In‑Flight (LOC‑I)—a leading cause of aviation fatalities—and expanding advanced pilot training options across the UAE and MENA regions.
