“Aeros Flight Training is seeking a Flight Operations and ATPL Lead for their base in Gloucester, based at Gloucestershire Staverton Airport.
Successful candidates will join a dynamic and energetic team of aviation professionals and reporting to the Group Managing Director, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Gloucester base alongside the Senior Flight Instructor and Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and management of the Flight Training and ATPL Theory schedule.
- Maintain a high-level overview of the aircraft serviceability and liaise closely with colleagues in Engineering to minimise aircraft down-time.
- Co-ordinate daily with the Senior Flight Instructor and their team to ensure effective booking of students and be pro-active in reacting to weather and other challenges associated with flight training.
- Fielding emails and phone calls from existing and potential customers and acting as an escalation point for any queries.
- Financial responsibilities including the invoicing of customers and approval of any invoices received as required by the Finance Director.
- Co-ordinate the Operations Team on-site and manage a small team of Operations Assistants.
- Be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of our on-site full-time ATPL Theory classes by scheduling lessons, instructors and learning materials as required by the Director of Education/CTKI.
- Ensure that student records are accurately maintained in line with current legislation and regulatory guidance.
Experience
Candidates should have a working-level background knowledge of the flight training industry and ideally wish to pursue a career within Flight Operations. A good knowledge of current legislation with regards to flight training, licensing and aircraft engineering is desirable but not essential as on-the-job training will be provided. We are particularly keen to hear from current recreational pilots who would have existing experience in the sector.
This role would unfortunately not be suitable for temporary candidates who may be waiting for a career within the commercial flying world.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), NextCloud (or other cloud-based file management system) and Moodle LMS.
- Aeros Flight Training use Flightlogger to manage aircraft and theory bookings so experience in using this is desirable.
- No formal qualifications are required but candidates must be willing to demonstrate that they would be suitable for the role and able to successfully pass an interview which will include scenario-based questions.”
