UK Helicopter Flight School, Helicentre Aviation, is Looking to Expand Flight Instructor Team

Since opening, its training academy, commercial and utility operations have gone from strength to strength and the original expectations of creating a one-stop training academy and commercial air operation were far exceeded. Helicentre Aviation has trained hundreds of professional helicopter pilots, feeding the crew supply chain globally, both offshore and onshore.

Today Helicentre Aviation owns and operates a fleet of 16 helicopters including Cabri G2, Robinson R44 and AgustaWestland AW109 helicopters operating the largest onshore aerial surveillance and training contracts in the UK.

Job Summary

The FI(H) is responsible for delivering professional flight training for the issue of a CPL(H), PPL(H) and helicopter type ratings, and may include other forms of ground and flight instruction and/or other commercial and non-commercial operations according to experience, qualifications and company requirements. This will range from check flights to refresher training for existing licence holders, and accompanying trainee pilots on hour building trips in the UK and Europe.

Provision of flight instruction in accordance with instructor qualificationsProvision of ground instructionSupervision of self-fly-hire pilotsAssisting with quality control auditsMonitoring student well being and act as point of contact for student concernsSafety compliance and promotionSupporting the Head of Training and Chief Flight InstructorDelivering flight training and ground briefings are per the ATO ManualAttendance of Flight Instructor MeetingsManaging students’ program and prepare paperworkDelivering ground school for PPL(H) and type rating coursesConducting maintenance ground runs and test flightsMaintain cleanliness of aircraftReporting defects in a timely mannerAssisting the Chief Flying Instructor in the development of training resourcesAttending career events where required

Core Competencies / Requirements

Maintain a valid CPL(H) with FI(H) and Class 1 or Class 2 Medical (dependent on role)Maintain relevant type ratingsMaintain familiarity with the relevant UK Regulations

Working Hours

Full-time, Permanent – as required in accordance with the ATO FTL scheme
