UK's Leading Edge Aviation Orders 10 Piper Archer DX Aircraft

United Kingdom & Spain – UK-headquartered flight training provider Leading Edge Aviation has agreed to acquire 10 Piper Archer DX aircraft and joined the Piper Flight School Alliance, with the first aircraft delivered in June 2026.

  • The Archer DX will become Leading Edge Aviation’s primary single-engine training aircraft and will support the academy’s integrated and modular pilot training programs.
  • The aircraft is powered by a 155 hp Continental CD-155 diesel engine using Jet-A fuel and is equipped as standard with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and a Garmin G5 standby display. Piper publishes a maximum range of 848 nautical miles and maximum cruise speed of 123 knots.
  • Leading Edge Aviation’s published fleet roster lists eight Diamond DA40s, eight DA42s and two Slingsby Fireflies at Oxford. Its Alhama fleet page lists five DA40s, one DA42, one Piper Seneca, six Piper PA-28s and four Archer DX aircraft marked as forthcoming.
  • Membership of the Piper Flight School Alliance provides access to manufacturer training support, prioritized service arrangements and joint marketing activities.
