Dubai, United Arab Emirates based flydubai is looking to hire a Senior Vice President – Flight Operations whose main objective is to lead flydubai Flight Operations department ensuring that all activities are in compliance with all national and international regulations and maintain the highest levels of safety and efficiency of flydubai’s fleet. To foster and maintain relations and communications with the flight deck community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains the medium to long-term strategy for the Flight Operations department.
• Provides leadership and guidance to the flight operations team, including pilot. Providing development opportunities and fostering a positive and cohesive work environment.
• Ensures that there are effective contingency and business continuity plans in place to manage overall flight operations in times of crisis.
• Establishes policies, rules, procedures and instructions governing the airplanes and flight crew.
• Approves operational, safety and security procedures relating to the conduct and supervision of flight operations in conjunction with the Senior Manager – Security and the VP – Quality & Safety
• Provides inputs to ensure that the manpower levels of Flight Crew and associated Flight Operations support services are appropriate.
• Represents the Airline in all matters relating to the AOC and flight operations with all regulatory authorities (both nationally and internationally) and non-regulatory bodies including advisory bodies and OEMs.
• Ensures that all flight operations comply with GCAA regulations, Company standards as well as other applicable regulatory requirements with regards to routes and areas for which flydubai operates in.
• Approves amendments to all Flight Operations manuals, when required.
• Monitors and supervises the investigation of all accidents, incidents and occurrences and oversees the development of all mitigation strategies pertaining to ensuing recommendations.
• Approves the categorization of any airport that flydubai operates to.
• Develops and manages the annual budget for the flight operations department.
• Acts as a nominated Post Holder for Flight Operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• MBA (Preferred)

Experience Specific Requirements

• 10 years Flight Operations experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership capacity.
• Experience of working with a state regulator an advantage
• Preferred No. of Years (with Relevant Degree) – 10
• Preferred No. of Years (without Relevant Degree) – 15

Systems, Licensing, Language or Certification Requirements

• Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
• Strong regulatory background, preferably EASA or GCAA
