Arizona, USA – Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), the Mesa, Arizona-based global provider of Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), has launched a Jet Transition Program using the SIAI-Marchetti S-211 for pilots progressing from general aviation toward airline, corporate and other professional jet operations.

  • Training options range from a half-day introductory jet experience to multi-day programmes incorporating S-211 flying, simulator sessions, virtual reality training and optional high-altitude flight profiles. Participants do not require a jet type rating, high-performance endorsement or high-altitude endorsement.
  • The programme is built around APS's SIAI-Marchetti S-211 military jet trainers and covers jet handling, energy management, stalls, unusual attitudes and aircraft upset scenarios. Loss of control in flight mitigation is a central element of the syllabus.
  • The instruction is delivered by instructors with military jet experience and is aimed at pilots preparing for airline, business aviation or other professional flying careers. Enrolment is now open.
  • The S-211 platform used by APS is a pressurised tandem-seat jet trainer capable of operating at altitudes up to 40,000 feet and speeds up to 400 KIAS or Mach 0.8. APS has equipped its aircraft with Garmin G3X avionics to provide a cockpit environment more representative of modern professional jet operations.
  • AFM previously reported that APS expanded its S-211 fleet to three aircraft in February 2025 and subsequently introduced instrumentation-based Precision Data Overlay for its S-211 UPRT programmes in April 2026.

Statements

  • "Our goal is to provide pilots with meaningful, real-world jet experience at a critical stage in their development. This program delivers both confidence and capability as pilots transition into professional aviation roles," said Paul "BJ" Ransbury, CEO of APS.
