Florida, USA – US Aviation Academy (USAA) has opened international applications for European Flight Training (EFT) modular EASA courses at Treasure Coast International Airport in Fort Pierce, adding European licensing pathways alongside its established FAA training activity. The expansion broadens USAA's addressable international student market by allowing the group to offer both FAA and EASA-oriented pilot training from its growing Florida operation.
- The newly promoted European Flight Training pathway covers modular EASA Private Pilot Licence, Night Rating, ATPL theoretical knowledge, Commercial Pilot Licence, Multi-Engine Piston and Single-Engine Piston training, according to US Aviation Academy.
- The modular format allows students to enrol in individual stages or combinations of courses rather than committing to a single integrated program. EFT's published training structure allows candidates to progress from PPL and hour-building through ATPL theory and subsequent CPL/IR training, subject to the applicable prerequisites.
- Training is based at Treasure Coast International Airport in Fort Pierce, Florida, where US Aviation Academy opened a new flight training campus in May 2026.
- The latest EASA offering is linked to European Flight Training, which historically operated through parent company Aviator College from the same Fort Pierce location. EFT's current website continues to identify Aviator College as its parent company but now lists a US Aviation Academy admissions email address, indicating that the EASA training business is being integrated into USAA's Fort Pierce commercial platform.
- USAA has indicated that the development follows its acquisition of the European Flight Training operation.
- European Flight Training has historically operated under EASA Approved Training Organisation certificate EASA.ATO.0008 and has offered European pilot licensing training in Florida since around 2000. Its website continues to market training from zero experience through the commercial pilot pathway.
- There is, however, an important regulatory status issue associated with the latest announcement. EASA's official restricted and invalid ATO register records European Flight Training LLC's EASA.ATO.0008 certificate as suspended from 29 June 2026, and EFT does not appear on EASA's 31 July 2026 list of active ATO certificates.
- US Aviation Academy's May expansion release had described the Fort Pierce campus as operating as part of an EASA-approved ATO. The company's latest announcement states that applications are now being accepted for EASA courses, but it does not address the June suspension or state whether the approval has subsequently been reinstated, transferred or is expected to be restored before training commences.
- EFT's website also continues to describe EASA.ATO.0008 as an approved certificate despite the more recent EASA regulatory records. As of 18 August 2026, AFM could not independently verify a subsequent EASA publication confirming reinstatement of the certificate.
- The EASA capability complements USAA's wider international activity. Its existing international training portfolio includes FAA pathways for overseas students and country-specific programs, while its Fort Pierce operation is currently promoting a 10-month international training pathway using Cessna 152, Cessna 172 and Piper Seneca aircraft.
- The Fort Pierce campus represents part of a wider USAA expansion strategy. In May 2026 the group simultaneously opened the Florida flight training base and an FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School at Kissimmee Gateway Airport, extending a training network that already covered Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Georgia and New York.
- USAA has also expanded through transactions elsewhere in the United States, including its 2024 acquisition of Flyt Aviation's assets in Georgia and its 2025 merger with Kansas City-based Kilo Charlie Aviation.
- AFM previously reported in May 2026 that US Aviation Academy's new Fort Pierce campus occupied facilities previously used by Aviator College. AFM also reported in September 2025 that Aviator College's European Flight Training operation was hosting French Wecair cadets in Florida as part of a multi-continent EASA pilot training pathway.
