US Aviation Academy Opens Fort Pierce Flight Campus and Kissimmee Maintenance School in 2026 Expansion

May 29, 2026

Florida, USA – US Aviation Academy (USAA), one of North America's largest aviation and pilot training group's, has announced the simultaneous opening of two new Florida facilities — a flight training campus in Fort Pierce and an FAA Part 147-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) at Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM).

  • The Fort Pierce campus is located at a facility previously occupied by Aviator College, with USAA leasing the recently vacated premises. The academy emphasized this is an entirely new and independent operation with new leadership, new standards, and a full US Aviation Academy experience from the first day of classes.
  • The Kissimmee location places the maintenance school at the heart of Central Florida's aviation corridor, with proximity to major carriers, aviation maintenance providers, and the broader aerospace industry concentrated around the Orlando metropolitan area.
  • The Fort Pierce campus currently offers Part 61 training with programs covering Private Pilot through Multi-Engine Instructor, with an average training cost of approximately USD 97,000 and a nine-month timeline to commercial and flight instructor certificates. USAA is pursuing FAA self-testing authority for the Florida location.

The dual Florida opening cements the state as the next major step in USAA's growing nationwide footprint, adding to its existing network of 11 training campuses and fleet of over 200 aircraft, supported by more than 325 flight instructors maintaining a graduate-to-instructor hiring rate upward of 90%.
