Texas, USA – Aviation training provider US Aviation Academy, part of US Aviation Group, has announced a partnership with veteran employment nonprofit NextOp Veterans to provide additional professional development and career guidance for military veterans enrolled in its aircraft maintenance training programs. The collaboration aims to support students transitioning from military service into civilian aviation maintenance careers.
- US Aviation Academy offers accelerated eight-month full-time and 16-month part-time Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic training programs, alongside a separate six-week military transition and A&P examination preparation course for eligible former military maintenance personnel.
- Through the partnership, veteran students will receive additional career development support as they prepare to enter the civilian aviation workforce following graduation. The initiative is intended to help participants build on their existing military technical experience and identify employment opportunities within the aviation industry.
- NextOp's existing veteran employment services include individual career coaching, translating military qualifications into civilian employment credentials, résumé preparation, interview assistance and connections with prospective employers.
- The two organisations previously participated in an Airframe and Powerplant information session for veterans on September 8, 2026. Organised through NextOp and the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC), the virtual event provided information on FAA-approved maintenance training, education benefits, certification requirements and aviation maintenance career pathways.
- AFM previously reported that US Aviation Academy introduced a military-to-civilian aircraft maintenance technician pathway in June 2024, combining technical training with career preparation and employment opportunities for transitioning service members.
