Flight Simulator Technician
Avenger Flight Group (AFG) is seeking an experienced Simulator Technician to join our growing company at our largest Flight Training Center, located near the DFW Airport.
Sim Techs are responsible for monitoring and repairing a variety of simulator-specific computer and visual systems, troubleshooting electronic equipment, and returning to service all simulator equipment using a broad knowledge base.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform complex, but standard technical tasks including diagnostic, preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Utilize QMS to record and track maintenance activities.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight tasks on the simulators.
- Perform visual alignments.
- Run QTG tests and evaluate the results.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
- Exercise initiative in applying and adapting procedures to address both regular and unusual problems with the training devices and associated systems.
- Interact with customers in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of flight simulator experience preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of various types of test equipment and hand/special tools.
- Experience in computer building and assembly desired.
- Familiarity with Linux, networking, IT troubleshooting, and creating backups.
- Familiarity with AST/Singer Link machines a plus; specifically Evans and Sutherland (E&S) Visual Systems and Nighthawk Hosts.
- Familiarity with Super C-Bus and DMC 16 IO systems.
- IT experience can be used in lieu of other technical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with avionics and navigational concepts.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work any shift in a 24×7 operation.
- Experience with hydraulic motion systems a plus.

Apprentice Simulator Maintenance Technician
Avenger Flight Group (AFG) is seeking an Apprentice Simulator Maintenance Technician to join our growing company at our largest Flight Training Center, located in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Applicants MUST have some aviation experience and/or education, and live locally. Candidates may be enrolled in a college or technical school for aviation or avionics. Additional preference will be given to those with a minimum of a student pilot’s license, avionics experience, or veteran status. There is an opportunity for rapid career advancement for the right individual. Please note this is an entry-level job, and experienced Sim Techs need not apply.
The Apprentice Sim Tech will assist our Sim Techs in providing the highest level of customer service to our clients. Sim Techs are responsible for monitoring and repairing a variety of simulator-specific computer and visual systems, troubleshooting electronic equipment, and returning to service all simulator equipment using a broad knowledge base.
Apprentice Sim Tech duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Interact with customers in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance tasks on the simulators.
- Perform standard technical tasks including corrective maintenance.
- Utilize QMS to record and track maintenance activities.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight tasks on the simulators.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
Qualifications sought:
- Familiarity with the use of various types of test equipment and hand/special tools.
- Aviation or avionics experience and/or college/technical education in an aviation specialty required.
- Strong technical aptitude and computer skills.
- Familiarity with avionics and navigational concepts.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work any shift in a 24/7 operation
Compensation and benefits:
- $15.00 per hour, 40 hours per week.
- Benefits are offered immediately.
