California, USA – Ascent Aviation Academy, an FAA Part 61 flight training provider based at Van Nuys Airport, has integrated the ARSim Aviation Radio Simulator into its training curriculum in partnership with Plane English, enhancing student readiness in radio communication — one of the most persistent challenges in early flight training. The collaboration reflects a growing emphasis on modern training tools to build real-world skills before students enter the cockpit.

  • ARSim, developed by Plane English, provides scenario-based ATC communication training, enabling students to practice phraseology, timing, and situational awareness in a controlled, feedback-driven environment.
  • Ascent Aviation Academy’s use of ARSim supports proactive skill development, reducing student anxiety and increasing communication proficiency before in-air instruction.
  • The integration empowers students to take ownership of their learning, enabling more efficient and confident in-flight lessons.
