California, USA – Aviation training technology company NAVI AI and Southern California flight school Sling Pilot Academy have expanded the use of NAVI's flight analysis and debriefing platform across Sling's pilot training operation, with NAVI stating that every flight at the academy is now supported by its technology.

  • NAVI states that its platform supports more than 55,000 flight hours annually at Sling Pilot Academy. The companies began working together in September 2024, when Sling became NAVI's first commercial deployment, and the system has since been incorporated into training activity from ground instruction through post-flight review.
  • NAVI's system captures cockpit audio and aircraft telemetry and combines those inputs with sources including training material, weather, aircraft history and traffic information. Its domain-specific AI system then aligns the recorded flight with the training syllabus and produces a structured post-flight debrief for students and instructors.
  • Sling's current Accelerated Airline Pilot Program includes NAVI AI debriefing on Sling training flights. Students can review individual manoeuvres, radio communications and decisions following a flight and interact with the system to examine specific training events.
  • The deployment follows an official partnership announcement made by Sling Pilot Academy in September 2025. NAVI later emerged from stealth in March 2026 after raising US$6.7 million in total funding from investors including United Airlines Ventures, BVVC, New Vista Capital, Raptor Group and I2BF, alongside funding from the US Department of War.
  • NAVI said in March 2026 that its technology had been trained on more than 100,000 real flight hours and was in commercial use or evaluation with organisations including Sling Pilot Academy, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of North Dakota, Purdue University, Utah State University, Delta State University and the US Air Force Test Pilot School. The company also has a technology integration relationship with Garmin.
  • Sling currently operates from four Southern California airports: Torrance Airport (KTOA), Long Beach Airport (KLGB), Santa Monica Airport (KSMO) and Gillespie Field in San Diego (KSEE). The academy operates more than 60 glass-cockpit aircraft.
