Wyoming, USA – Veteran-majority-owned flight training and aviation consulting company NorthEast Planes Aviation has opened Rawlins Flight Academy following its relocation from Laramie to Rawlins in 2026. The operation adds a dedicated local training option and an accelerated pathway to commercial pilot and flight instructor qualifications in south-central Wyoming.

The company is offering discovery flights, aircraft rentals, pilot supplies, casual flight training and a professional pilot programme. Its current website also lists introductory flights, aircraft checkout training and recurrent training for licensed pilots.
The launch announcement stated that professional programme participants could begin earning an income as pilots in as little as eight months. The company’s current programme information advertises completion in as little as seven months, with training conducted five days per week at Rawlins Municipal Airport and through flight simulation sessions at the downtown office.
Programme graduates are expected to complete commercial pilot qualifications with single-engine and multi-engine privileges, an airplane instrument rating and a flight instructor certificate. The curriculum also includes tailwheel endorsement, mountain flying, turbocharged aircraft operations and basic Federal Aviation Regulations Part 135 ground school.
NorthEast Planes Aviation anticipated beginning recruitment for administrative positions during August or September 2026, indicating that the Rawlins operation may also create a limited number of local support roles.
