US Regional Airline CommuteAir Expands VR Training Partnership with Visionary Training Resources

USA – Visionary Training Resources (VTR), a US-based virtual reality (VR) pilot training solutions provider, has expanded its partnership with CommuteAir, with the United Express operator adding VTR’s Exterior Walkaround Trainer to its existing VR-based training ecosystem.

• CommuteAir has been utilizing VTR’s E145 FlightDeckToGo® VR platform for initial pilot training.

• The airline will now integrate VTR’s Exterior Walkaround Trainer into its training curriculum.

• The VR-based exterior trainer provides:

  • Full aircraft exterior access with customizable liveries

  • Randomized abnormal conditions

  • Interactive inspection points

  • Embedded real-world imagery

• The system standardizes pre-flight inspection training without requiring physical aircraft access.

• VTR and CommuteAir plan to seek FAA certification for use of the VR Exterior Walkaround Trainer within approved training programs.
