US Regional Airline, Piedmont Airlines, Appoints New Chief Pilot
Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned regional carrier for American Airlines has hired an additional Chief Pilot to support continued airline growth. Captain Chuck Campbell, former Chief Pilot with Mesa Airlines joins Piedmont as their new Chief Pilot.
Earlier this Fall, Piedmont announced the addition of 15 Embraer 145 aircraft joining its fleet as Piedmont aims to grow in the future. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Chuck will support Piedmont’s current and future line pilots and flight operations. He joins Captain Bradley Fields in the Charlotte Chief Pilot’s office and our Philadelphia-based Chief Pilots, Captain John Pursell and Captain Andrew Derrick.
“I am pleased to have Chuck join Piedmont’s Flight Operations department as our newest Chief Pilot,” says Eddie Leverton, Vice President of Flight Operations. “He brings nearly two decades of pilot management experience which will be extremely valuable as we have recently onboarded hundreds of new pilots with aggressive plans to grow the airline.”
Prior to joining Piedmont, Chuck worked as the Regional Chief Pilot for Mesa Airlines for 17 years and also worked at Mesa as a line pilot, instructor, and Operating Experience Line Check Airman. He was also previously employed with CC Air and Petty Enterprise and worked as the Director of Operations for Part 135 Operations for Mid-Atlantic Freight, Inc. for ten years prior to joining Mesa.
Originally from Jamestown, North Carolina, Chuck graduated with an associate degree in Aviation Management from Guilford Technical Community College.
