“Summary:

The Admissions Manager is responsible for the admissions department to ensure a high level of student service, department efficiency, and strict compliance with internal and external requirements. This is accomplished through continuous and effective training, work review, and regular and thorough observation of the enrollment process. This person possesses strong leadership and managerial aptitude.

The Admissions Manager must uphold the philosophy and mission of California Aeronautical University while instilling positive and progressive attitudes in all employees.

Job Requirements include but are not limited to the following:

Compliance:

  • Responsible for compliance with all local, state, accreditation and federal regulations.
  • Ensure that all employees and students are held accountable to the company’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, of all applicants file prior to submission to the Admissions Review Committee.
  • Direct, train and review necessary policies and procedures with employees to ensure a culture of compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough reporting of all payrolls.

Supervision:

  • Oversee all duties of the Admission’s department.
  • Manage 1 to 8 direct reports.
  • Conduct interviews, hires, training’s and terminations.
  • Manage and ensure Admission’s employees’ performance standards.
  • Ensure through proper monitoring and communication Admissions employees adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Admission’s employees’ performance reviews and disciplinary actions are completed.

Essential Duties:

  • Create an environment that fosters trust, provides training and development for employees, duties ethically, and is motivational to employees.
  • Ensure information and records resulting from all student communications are legibly documented;
  • Monitor and support employee efforts to develop relationships that promote an awareness and interest in the University;
  • Observe and evaluate associates conducting the discovery and informational section of the career planning session;
  • Gauge associates’ ability to assess applicant’s interest, motivation and commitment;
  • Track associate follow up activity with applicants to ensure ongoing commitment using phone, email, postcards and/or notes as appropriate;
  • Track associate activity using CVUE and weekly reviews;
  • Monitor Admissions Associates follow-through with High school Inquiries.
  • Observe and evaluate High School presenter’s abilities and effectiveness in the classroom;
  • Track and monitor Associates efforts in the community to promote self-generated inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (AA or AS) from an accredited college or university required. Additionally, five or more years’ related experience and/or training in business, education, or finance preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines and manage unexpected situations. Previous teaching experience beneficial. Strong technology skills necessary. Management and/or supervisory training, or previous experience with vocational rehabilitation agencies helpful.

Travel Demands:

  • This individual has occasional responsibility to travel. Overnight stays may be required and number of nights is dictated by company and/or by schedule of events. This individual must have the ability to travel to all campus locations as necessary. Must have vehicle suitable for safe and secure transportation. This individual may be required to transport company documents and/or company assets.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business communications, financial reports, legal documents, and some government reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to students, top management and/or public groups.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands:
