Texas, USA – Texas State University has partnered with Sky Safety Flight Academy to expand its Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Aviation Science degree program to the Greater San Antonio area, with flight training to be delivered at Stinson Municipal Airport beginning Fall 2026.

The partnership represents the latest geographic expansion of Texas State University's multi-site Aviation Science program, adding San Antonio alongside the existing Genesis Aero partnership at Georgetown Executive Airport serving the Round Rock campus, which launched in Spring 2026.
Sky Safety brings nearly 30 years of professional flight training experience to the collaboration, delivering the flight training component at Stinson Municipal Airport while Texas State University provides the academic degree framework through its Department of Organization, Workforce and Leadership Studies (OWLS).
The Aviation Science degree integrates professional flight training directly into the degree plan, enabling students to build FAA certifications and licensure alongside academic coursework covering critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills valued by the commercial aviation industry.
Texas State University's Aviation Science program is currently accepting applications across six states — Arizona, California, Kansas, Georgia, Texas, and Utah — with future expansion planned to Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, and New Mexico pending state authorization approval.
The multi-partner, multi-location model positions Texas State as an increasingly distributed collegiate aviation program, able to reach students across multiple geographic markets through locally embedded flight training partnerships rather than requiring relocation to a single campus.
