Arkansas, USA – The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) Aviation Academy has been selected as one of only six universities nationwide to host the U.S. Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) competitive flight training programme for the second consecutive year, with eight cadets set to train at UCA from 10 June to 7 August 2026.

The eight-week intensive summer programme enables competitively selected AFJROTC cadets from across the country to attend aviation training at accredited universities, with participants able to earn college credit and work toward their Private Pilot Licence while gaining exposure to aviation careers.
UCA's selection for the second year reflects the success of its inaugural 2025 programme and its demonstrated ability to operate with minimal external support.
The AFJROTC flight training programme was established in 2018 to address the growing demand for pilots while increasing accessibility to aviation careers for high school students; cadets who continue their education may receive special consideration for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) scholarships covering two to four years of tuition, books, and fees.
The UCA Aviation Academy offers rolling enrolment with new classes every three months, providing Private, Commercial, and Instructor certifications alongside Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings.
