United States – CymSTAR, a U.S.-based integrator of aircrew and maintenance training systems, has been awarded a contract exceeding USD 150 million by the U.S. Air Force to continue managing the C-5 Training System (TS). This follows a competitive selection process and builds on CymSTAR’s prior role supporting the program since 2017.
- CymSTAR will operate and maintain C-5 training devices—including simulators—for pilots, flight engineers, loadmasters, and maintenance personnel.
- The new contract spans from January 1, 2026, to December 2034, including a transition period and nine option years.
- Training locations include Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Dover AFB, Travis AFB, and Westover ARB.
- CymSTAR’s responsibilities also include delivering instruction, updating courseware, and managing device concurrency to align with aircraft upgrades.
- The C-5 TS is overseen by the Simulators Division of the Agile Combat Support Directorate at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
- Key subcontractors include Aviation Training Consulting (ATC), CAE USA, and the CTE Joint Venture (Carley Corporation and ESP, Inc.).
