San Antonio, USA– Vertex Solutions, a Woman-Owned Small Business specializing in advanced training technology, has delivered its first upgraded reconfigurable enhanced immersive training device (eITD), configured as a T-38, to the U.S. Air Force’s Detachment 24 (DET 24) at the 19th Air Force (19AF), Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Randolph, Texas. This marks the introduction of mixed reality (MR) cockpits into the Air Force’s Fighter Bomber Fundamentals syllabus.
Vertex Solutions is contracted to provide six T-38 eITD systems to the U.S. Air Force.Four units are currently being installed at Columbus Air Force Base (AFB), while two will be deployed at JBSA Randolph.The T-38 eITD enhances the Virtual Training for Air Dominance program, integrating MR cockpits that allow pilots to interact with physical cockpit controls within a virtual environment.The upgraded system enables pilots to repeatedly practice complex maneuvers, increasing confidence and proficiency before live flight training.The rollout follows a successful showcase of the eITD at I/ITSEC 2024 in collaboration with RYAN AEROSPACE.
