VIAA Hosts RMIT Aviation Academy Leadership to Advance International Pilot Training Program for Vietjet Cadets

May 18, 2026

Vietnam & Australia – Victoria Aviation Academy (VIAA), the recently rebranded aviation training academy of Vietnamese carrier Vietjet, has hosted the leadership team from RMIT Aviation Academy for a working session focused on strengthening their collaborative pilot training pathway between Vietnam and Australia.

  • The partnership provides VIAA trainees with a structured international training pathway that includes completing flight training at RMIT Aviation Academy in Melbourne, Australia, accumulating credits towards an Aviation Diploma or Bachelor's Degree at RMIT, completing ATPL theory training and Airbus type rating at VIAA, and training on the Airbus A320 with a pathway to becoming a Vietjet pilot.
  • RMIT University brings more than 80 years of experience in aviation and aerospace education to the partnership and is identified as one of VIAA's key strategic partners in training the next generation of pilots for Vietjet and Vietnam's aviation industry.

RMIT Aviation Academy reported a record-breaking 2025, flying over 20,000 flight hours — the highest in its history — and is positioned as a growing force in Australia's flight training landscape.
