Vietjet Signs Strategic Aviation Training and Simulation MoU with CAE in September 2026

Vietnam & Canada – Vietnamese airline Vietjet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CAE covering strategic cooperation in pilot, cabin crew and technician training, simulation technology and digital learning.

• Vietjet and CAE exchanged the MoU on September 25, 2026 during the Vietnam-Canada high-level business dialogue in Ottawa, attended by Vietnam's General Secretary and President To Lam and Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu. The agreement was publicly confirmed by Vietnamese government and state-media sources on September 26.
• The stated cooperation covers five principal areas: pilot training, cabin crew training, technician training, simulation technology and digital learning.
• 3 CAE 7000XR Airbus A320 CEO/NEO Level D Full Flight Simulators currently form the core of Victoria Aviation Academy's full-flight simulation capability in Ho Chi Minh City.
• Vietjet's simulator operation reached an important regulatory milestone in December 2025 when the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam approved the airline's aviation academy to assume full responsibility for management, operation, supervision and maintenance of its CAE-manufactured A320 CEO/NEO simulator system.
• The approval marked a transition from an operating arrangement established with Airbus in 2018 to full in-house responsibility for the simulator system. The academy subsequently began offering capacity on the three A320 FFS devices to external customers in January 2026.
