Vietnamese Airline Academy Prepares 2nd Multi-Crew Pilot Licence Intake with F Air

Vietnam – Airline-owned training centre Victoria Aviation Academy, formerly Vietjet Aviation Academy, has held an information session for the second intake of its Multi-Crew Pilot Licence programme for future Vietjet pilots.

• More than 20 prospective pilots and their families attended the information session on July 25, 2026. Participants received information on admissions, course stages and employment pathways and toured the academy’s classrooms and simulation facilities.
• Candidate interviews are scheduled for August 4, 2026, with training expected to begin on August 17.
• The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam-approved programme is delivered by Victoria Aviation Academy in partnership with Czech EASA-approved flight training organisation F AIR. It is structured around Vietjet’s operational requirements and is intended to prepare cadets for Airbus A320-family airline operations.
• The published 18-month pathway comprises six months of airline transport pilot theoretical instruction in Vietnam, four months of core flight training at F AIR in the Czech Republic, five months of Airbus A320 type-rating training at the academy in Vietnam and three months of supervised line flying with Vietjet.
• Admission requirements published by the academy include an age range of 18 to 35, completion of high school, a medical certificate issued under CAAV requirements and English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or TOEIC 600. Candidates must also pass Vietjet’s assessment and interview process.
• The academy states that Vietjet commits to offering first officer positions to cadets who successfully complete the MPL programme and satisfy the airline’s applicable requirements. It also claims that the pathway can reduce training costs by approximately $20,000 compared with its traditional CPL route.
• Victoria Aviation Academy operates three CAE 7000XR Airbus A320 Level D full-flight simulators and a CAE 400XR Airbus Procedures Trainer.
• AFM previously reported that the first VJAA MPL cadets began their Core and Basic Phase training at F AIR in April 2025.
